Linda Lashendock and Scott Baker - videos

Linda Maria Lashendock leads the award winning Office of Elon Television as Elon University’s Assistant Director of Instructional Technologies. She produces creative video/audio pieces through project management, ensures successful university events, develops budgets and strategic planning, mentors over 100 students with an engaged learning program, ESTV with five student shows, supports the School of Communication to ensure students have access to first-class digital/HDV equipment, and works closely with four ETV colleagues.

Before coming to Elon, Lashendock worked for more than 20 years at CNN. She started in the Washington, D.C. bureau as an intern and soon was producing “LIVE” interviews with White House officials, legislators and international leaders. Later, Lashendock became the Producer-Editor covering the White House beat under Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton and then advanced to Manager of News Production for the D.C. bureau.

Lashendock has earned several awards for her academic and corporate works, including an Edward R. Murrow Award; several Emmy’s including one for the coverage of 911, and several Broadcast Educational Association and Telly awards.

Today, Lashendock is pursuing a Master’s degree at UNCG focusing on Sustainability while working at Elon University. Her initial interest in Company Shops Market.coop resulted from a Slow Food class. Lashendock had to produce a paper on something related to Slow Food and discovered sustainable farms in Alamance County. She thrived on her passion of television and produced a video tape for the class as well for the CSMC. Lashendock will pursue her sustainability adventures by studying in Tuscany, Italy in the fall of 2008, working on a Medieval Sustainable farm called Spannocchia.

Sarah Cook - webmaster

Sarah and her Husband Nate Perry moved to Graham, NC in the summer of 2004 after living in the Atlanta metro area for several years. "Lured by Weaver Street Market and the small town community feel, we initially started looking for a place in Carrboro. When we had little luck finding the right house in our preferred price range, our Realtor suggested taking a look at Graham. And I'm so glad we did! We love the community but really miss having a local co-op grocery store nearby."

In May of 2006 Sarah met founding board member, Eric Henry, at the Haw River Festival. "I was thrilled to find a growing group of people and businesses in Alamance County who are interested in building local community, supporting local agriculture and local economy, promoting sustainability and who see the merits of environmental and social responsibility. I was very excited when Eric told me about the plan for Company Shops Market and asked if I would be interested in volunteering website design services."

Sarah is the owner of Think Web Solutions, a local website development company.

Frances Moore---bookkeeper

"When I lived in Chapel Hill I enjoyed the option of having fresh organic foods available and a strong local community. I am looking forward to local gatherings at the new Company Shops Marketplace and am happy to play a part in the success of a new grocery store with local foods and folks. It is a great opportunity for me to use my accounting experience as a volunteer to benefit the Coop. The people that are working hard behind the scenes to make the Coop happen are great to work with."

Wayne White - event assistance

Wayne is a relatively new resident of Burlington, having lived in Greensboro from 1975-2005. He has been active in the Greensboro community, while living in Fisher Park, which is a center-city neighborhood. His activities included serving as Chairman of the Historic District Commission and President of Preservation Greensboro, Inc. Wayne also was the co-founder of Architectural Salvage of Greensboro, one of the longest-running all-volunteer salvage operations in the country, that subsidizes preservation projects in the community. Wayne's civic activities have always centered on hands-on active participation in large fund-raising projects and labor-intensive volunteer projects, and his skills in organization and motivating volunteers will come in handy in the formation of Company Shops Market, and he's excited that the community has indicated such a strong initial interest in the concept of Company Shops Market.

Mark Danieley---producer relations

The Gourmet Local Dinner at Braeburn Farm on May 17, 2008 was a great success!

It was a beautiful spring day on the farm and all 160 attendees and volunteers enjoyed amazing local food, drink and music. We are very thankful for the wealth of local products and services in our area and especially want to recognize the volunteers who played a huge part in the success of our event. Thank You!
